This shoot was a truly special collaboration with Miss Sonal Khilwani, an actress and creator based in Mumbai. The project was a paid collaboration with Mahavir Bandhani, a local ethnic wear brand celebrated for its traditional fabrics and exquisite printing techniques. The saree featured in this shoot was a part of their Bandhani Print Series, where fabric is carefully tied in specific ways before being dipped in color, creating breathtakingly intricate patterns. This particular piece carried a touch of elegance with its shimmering gold border.
For this shoot, I used my Sony a6400 paired with the Tamron 17-70mm F1.8 lens, mounted on the Zhiyun Weebill 3 Gimbal. Two LED lights were also part of the setup, giving me the perfect balance of mood and sharpness. The result was a blend of cinematic reels and timeless portrait stills that beautifully showcased both the fabric’s artistry and Sonal’s grace.
